Goal: Students start to write out their dreams and think about their goals.
We’ve spent a lot of time talking about our interests and how they can inform our careers and maybe you started to think about your big dream! Let’s Discuss!
- Have students take out a piece of paper and fold it in half.
- Right down your dreams on the left side of the paper.
- Give students 3 mins to write down as many dreams as they can.
Once students finish their dream list. Explain to students the difference between dreams & goals: Dreams without goals are just dreams…and just dreaming could lead to disappointment if you never accomplish your dreams. You need action.
- Now help students create goals for their dreams on the left side of their paper
- See the example.
Closing Discussion - 15mins
- Why is it important to turn your dreams into goals?
- What might be holding us back from achieving our goals or dreams?
- What can you do to address what’s holding you back?
