Opening Ritual: Conduct your opening ritual!
Mood Check: Gather the students into a circle (standing or sitting – keep comfort in mind)!
Activity 1: What’s Your Stress Type? (20 Mins)
How Do You Handle Stress?
- Ask: “What situations stress you out the most?”
- Quick Discussion: List responses on the board.
What’s Your Stress Type?
- Self-Reflection: Students take a mini self-assessment to identify their stress type (Procrastinator, Perfectionist, Avoider, Overcommitter).
- Group Discussion: How does each stress type respond to pressure?
Activity 2: Beat the Pressure Challenge (20 mins)
How to Play:
- Divide students into small teams (3-4 students per group).
- In each round, teams will be given a stressful scenario and must quickly come up with a strategy to manage the situation effectively.
- Responses must include (1) what immediate action they’d take, (2) how they’d prevent it from happening again, and (3) a healthy coping strategy.
- Judging: The teacher/mentor will decide which team came up with the most effective, realistic, and creative solution.
Stressful Situations for the Simulation:
- The Group Project Disaster: Your group members aren’t doing their work, and the deadline is tomorrow. What do you do?
- The Canceled Plans Crisis: You made plans with friends, but your parent/guardian tells you at the last minute that you need to babysit your younger sibling instead. How do you handle it?
- The Overload Panic: You have an important test, a job shift, and a family event all on the same day. What’s your game plan?
- The Social Media Blow-Up: Someone posted something negative about you on social media. It’s getting shared, and people are talking about it. How do you respond?
Closing Huddle:
End by collectively performing your exit ritual! Remind students of the next session!
Final Thought: “Stress is inevitable—how you handle it makes the difference.”
