OBJECTIVE:

Students review their academic standing and create action plan for continuous progression.

MATERIALS:

Writing Utensils, Bingo Sheet

Opening Huddle - 15 mins

Feel free to play music to generate energy and set the vibe!

Activity 1 – 20 Mins

Mentors: Junior year is in full effect and it’s time for us to check in on our progression to senior/graduation. Explain the rules of Graduation Track Bingo. Play music as the students complete their sheet. 

  • This will be an individual activity due to the information being used. 
  • Have students check off any/all boxes that have been completed. 

Disburse Bingo sheet. As students are completing the sheet, walk around the room and assist students as needed. Feel free to have open dialogues but, with discretion as this activity includes sensitive information.

Activity 2 – 20 Mins

Teacher: Now that you know where you are on your road to senior year/graduation. Let’s create an action plan (2-3 action items) to keep you on track.

For those with unchecked boxes left, let’s create an action plan to complete those items and courses.

  • What courses need to be made up or retaken?
  • Make a list of classes in priority order.

For students who have checked off all boxes, create a plan to stay on track.

  • What practices have you been using to stay on track?
  • Can you continue using them?

Mentors: Use this time to allow students to share or ask questions:

  • How are you feeling about graduation?
  • Rate your feelings (1-5).

Closing Huddle – 5 Mins

  • End by collectively performing your exit ritual! 
  • Remind students of the next session!
