Activity 1 (20 mins)
Mentors: Legacy Letter: Students write a letter to their future senior self or to next year’s 11th graders offering advice, encouragement, and hopes.
- Create a Reflective and Safe Environment: Set the tone by encouraging students to be honest, hopeful, and thoughtful. Offer reflection prompts (e.g., “What did I wish I knew before this year?” or “What helped me stay focused and motivated?”)
- Emphasize the Power of Their Story: Remind students that their experiences both challenges and victories carry wisdom. Encourage them to speak from the heart, using people-centered language that uplifts, encourages, and provides insight for either their future selves or peers coming behind them.
Activity 2 (30 mins)
Teacher: Vision Board: Students create a visual representation of their goals for senior year and beyond.
- TEACHERS should facilitate this. Allow students to use their chromebooks to build a vision board style paper inside microsoft word or google docs.
Closing Huddle – 5 Mins
- End by collectively performing your exit ritual!
- Remind students of the next session!
