Activity 1 – 20 Mins
Mentors: Using your 1 year SMART Goal from last week, think about what steps you need to take in order to achieve the goal. Think about ways Next Gen can assist.
Examples: Complete FAFSA, take the SAT/ACT, complete and submit college, internships, and/or job application, etc.
- Take out a sheet of paper and write a To-Do List of action items/steps needed to achieve the goal.
Activity 2 – 20 Mins
Teacher & Mentors: Pass out poster boards and markers, and play music in the background while students complete their activity.
Student Instructions:
- Create a life-size road map for your 1 Year SMART Goal using the items on your To-Do List.
- Be intentional with this activity.
- Hang your road map somewhere visible so you can be reminded of your goal.
Cohort Leaders: Feel free to participate in creating a road map of your own and share it with the students.
Closing Huddle – 5 Mins
- End by collectively performing your exit ritual!
- Remind students of the next session!
