Activity 1 (20 mins)

Mentors: “Values in Relationship” Scenarios

Instructions:

In small groups, students read and respond to short scenarios that explore how values play out in relationships—with friends, teammates, classmates, or coworkers.

Sample Scenarios:

  1. A friend shares something personal with you and asks you not to tell anyone, but later you hear someone else talking about it.

  2. You’re in a group project and someone is being ignored even when they try to speak up.

  3. Someone you care about is making choices that go against your values. Do you say something?

  4. You realize you made a joke that hurt someone’s feelings, even though you didn’t mean to.

Mentor Discussion Prompts:

  • What value is at stake here?

  • How would you want someone to respond if the roles were reversed?

  • What does it look like to act with both honesty and care?

Activity 2

Teacher: “Presence Statement” Practice (20 minutes)

Instructions:

Students create a short, personal presence statement that reflects the kind of person they want to be in group settings.

“In a space with others, I want to be someone who…”
“When things get hard, I want to show up by…”
“I feel most proud of how I treat others when I…”

Closing Huddle

  1. End by collectively performing your exit ritual!
  2. Remind students of the next session!
